NEAPOLIS Apartments is situated south of Chania Province, in one of the most beautiful and picturesque areas of Crete: Paleochora. It is near to some of the most popular sites of the island, like Sougia, Lissos, Elafonisos, Chrisoskalitissa, Azogires, Koudoura, Gavdos island, and many more... Green busses are available throughout the day, almost every hour, whilst the bus stop is only a few meters away.
Paleochora is an area which combines unique natural beauty, history and culture, providing thus many opportunities for extraordinary get-aways.
Paleohora (Paliohora) is the second biggest town of southern Crete after Ierapetra. The town located almost at the southwestern end of the island has aprox. 1.000 inhabitants . The only way to reach Paleohora is from Hania , a trip of 75km of good asphalt road. Regular public transportation is available for visiting Paleohora.
People are occupied in tourism, olive cultivation, fishing, and lately tomato production in green houses Traditional weaving is also developed. There are many small beaches especially on the west side of the town. The city is a popular resort so there are many hotels, apartments, rooms to rent, restaurants, taverns, barsand a camping site. During the summer small ships provide tour to the beaches around the island and other small villages like Sfakia, Sougia, Loutro and Elafonissi.

The marked European paths E4 and E1 cross Paleochora allowing walkers and hikers the chance to discover a wonderful and incredible natural world.

Visitors will find plentiful fresh and cheap fish, olive oil, honey, dairy products, local traditional pies (called calitsounia), traditional sweets and cakes.
Also you can try salads, seafood, tasty omelettes with many ingredients, escargot, spicy cheeses, vegetable and fruit. And be sure to try tsikoudia, the very strong local drink.
The beauty of Paleochora cannot be fully appreciated from this leaflet alone. Only by visiting will you understand all that is described in these pages. The landscape is enchasing and unique, we suggest the following local visits.
This route is easily found. It is marked with yellow and black signs along the way. It enters Crete at Kasteli or Kissamos and reaches Paleochora via Elafonisos and then it continues to Sougia.
Every evening a boat leaves Paleochora to sail out to the Libyan Sea to catch sight of the dolphins.
